The train travels to some of the ancient princely states of the 'land of kings', vibrant Rajasthan, where views of camel-studded sand dunes are accompanied by a bewitching dose of culture. Witness some of India's most compelling traditions in action and admire some of its incredible wildlife.

This luxury journey gives you a view of Rajasthan including Agra like a royalty. Everything about the train speaks luxury from the check-in to the cabins, facility and finest cuisine. The train provides luxury and comfort on wheels.

Meet our representative at the Palace on Wheels station at 1630hrs to complete the check-in formalities.

The boarding formalities are undertaken by our representative at the station.

Enjoy a warm and traditional welcome before boarding the Palace on Wheels.

You will be escorted to your cabin and given a brief familiarization tour by the Khidmatgars with a welcome drink, as we start our week-long journey through Rajasthan. 

We depart at 1830 hrs and the included Welcome Dinner will be served on board in the restaurant car..

The first stop of Palace on Wheels is Jaipur, one of the most well planned cities of the world of its time.

This capital city of Rajasthan, popularly known as the Pink City, was founded by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, in1727 A.D.

To explore the city, an air-conditioned coach takes you to Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds, which is a remarkable five storied building along the main street of the old city in pink splendor with semi-octagonal and delicate honey-combed sandstone windows.

This is followed by a visit to Albert Hall and the City Palace, home of the erstwhile royal family. Right across the road from the City Palace is the Jantar Mantar, the largest observatory built by the Sawai Jai Singh II.

1330 hrs: Ride on caparisoned elephants add to the ambiance at the Amber fort followed by the lunch. Then you will be off to visit Amber Fort. Shop for Jaipur’s famous jewellery, handicrafts, carpets blue pottery and textiles.  

1800 hrs: The Luxury coach will take you back to Palace on Wheels, Dinner will be served on board.

One can almost sense a life of the wilderness, as the Palace on Wheels arrives in Sawai Madhopur, a city named after its founder Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh I. A visit is arranged to the Ranthambhor National Park, wherein are located the ruins of a 10th century fort.

This wildlife sanctuary is considered to be the country’s best for observing and photographing the activities of the tiger. The park, covering an area of 392sq kms is home to more than 300 species of birds. The tiger, hyena, ratel, jackal and fox are among those constituting the carnivorous population here. Sawai Madhopur is known for its exclusive toys, ethnic ornaments and costumes. 

After visiting the game park, a safari canter will take you back to the Palace on Wheels for breakfast on board.

Lunch will be served on board as we head for Chittorgarh, when one gets an opportunity to watch the colourful countryside passing by in the daylight.

Sightseeing in Chittorgarh will include viewing the images of Love and Valour; scars of battles lost and won at the thrice-besieged, Chittorgarh Fort which is all this and more, the Victory Tower and the Tower of Fame. You will also have an opportunity to witness the sound and light show at the majestic Chittorgarh Fort.

Our luxury coach will take you back to the Palace on Wheels where dinner will be served on board.

Overnight on The Palace on Wheels which stays at Chittorgarh station until the early morning before departing for Udaipur. 


Arrive in Udaipur & your breakfast will be served on board. 

The city was founded by Maharana Udai Singh of Mewar, after the Sisodia dynasty was driven away by the Mughals.

After visits to the Garden of Fountains and the Durbar Museum, lunch will be taken at the Fateh Prakash Hotel, which contains an impressive crystal gallery. 

After lunch we see one of the most beautiful sites of Udaipur, as we cross Lake Pichola by boat, past the majestic Lake Palace Hotel idyllically situated in the middle of the lake, and our visit to the City Palace takes in the largest palace complex in Rajasthan.

The Luxury coach will take you back to the Palace on Wheels and dinner will be served on board.

In the heart of the Thar Desert lies Jaisalmer, founded by Rawal Jaisal, in 1156A.D. Here the yellow sandstone fort is an imposing sight, towering magnificently over the city. Discover the painstakingly latticed Havelis or mansions with their grand facades. The Nathmalji-ki-haveli, Patwon-ki-haveli and Salim Singh-ki-haveli are fine examples of the stone carver’s skill.

Enjoy lunch at a the Palace Hotel

After lunch, go for an exciting camel ride on the sand dunes of Sam, before sipping a refreshing cup of tea.

The luxury coach will take you back to the Palace on Wheels to freshen up & change. 

Later enjoy your dinner and the cultural programmes at the Palace Hotel.

After dinner, the luxury coach will take you back to The Palace on Wheels.

Next morning The Palace on Wheels is in Jodhpur, a city ringed by a high stone wall with seven gates and several bastions. This is the second largest city of Rajasthan, founded by Rao Jodha in 1459 A.D. is known for its rock-solid Mehrangarh Fort. The grand palaces within- Mo Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sileh Khana and Daulat Khana are impressive examples of architectural excellence. Near the fort complex lies the Jaswant Thada, and a group of royal cenotaphs made of white marble.

Lunch will be served at the city hotel. 

The luxury coach will take you back to Palace on Wheels where dinner will be served on board in the restaurant car.

Early next morning, The Palace on Wheels arrives in Bharatpur, the capital of Maharaja Suraj Mal.

Pay a visit to the world famous bird sanctuary, Keoladeo Ghana National Park, the nesting place of thousands of Egrets, Siberian Cranes, migratory Water Fowl and other species of birds. 

The luxury coach will take you back to The Palace on Wheels for breakfast on board and you will depart for Agra Fort followed by lunch at the palace hotel.

Move on to pay a visit to Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world.

A pristine monument of undying love; It was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal. Agra is also known for its splendid marble inlay work like the Pietra Dura work on the Taj, leather goods and jewellery. 

Our Farewell Dinner will be taken at the hotel, later on the Luxury coach will take you back to Palace on Wheels. Bid farewell to the train & perhaps a final drink in lounge bar.

This is your final morning on board and you will disembark the train at the Safdarjung Railway station, Delhi.

After purchase, you will receive a Booking Confirmation and Passenger Information Form by email. Within 24 hours of purchase you need to send us a copy of your passport together with your Passenger Information Form.

After purchase, you are required to make a deposit or full payment for your order. Please note most of our deposit is non-refundable. Please check your booking and your invoice for the Terms and Conditions which apply specifically to your booking.

• Any change requested after submitting your Passenger Information Form cannot be guaranteed, is strictly subject to availability and will incur surcharges
Safety Net Protection is not included in our tour/cruise packages. If you wish to purchase safety net protection, an additional fee of $105 per person will be incurred. This is only valid for a one-time use (claim).

Safety Net Protection enables passengers to amend their tour and/or river cruise 15 days prior to departure, to another tour/cruise to the same destination, departing in the same year (once only) without any applicable cancellation charges or penalties.

The new tour/cruise must be at the same cost or higher but cannot be at lower cost than the initial cruise/ tour booked. If the passenger chooses the higher cost option, then the additional difference amount must be paid. However, no modifications shall be accepted less than 15 days prior to departure.

Importance notes:
• Safety Net Protection is payable immediately at the time of making the deposit payment. Once purchased, Safety Net Protection is not refundable
• Safety Net Protection does not apply for airfares or third-party fees and charges.
• Safety Net Protection allows for amendment ONLY, not cancellation.
• You will be responsible for all your personal belongings while on the tours. It is your responsibility to make sure your room is secure.
Tipping is not compulsory and is not included in this package. We believe that if you choose to tip, you should only pay for the service you receive.

In general, tipping is widely accepted as a way to show your appreciation of good service but is not compulsory. Tipping is expected and often makes up a large part of people's wages.

• If you are happy with services provided by your tour guides and drivers, a tip is appreciated. Recommended tips - For the guides and drivers - $6US per day per passenger.

• If travel on a river cruises and happy with the services provided by your crews and service onboard. Recommended tips - For the crews and guides - $10US per day per passenger.
You must carry your own luggage from/to the coach and to/from the hotel or cruise. The driver and his assistance will assist with the uploading/off-loading of your luggage.

All of our tours will include internal flights within the tour, which allow 20kg of check-in luggage and 7kg of carry-on luggage per passenger. A surcharge may apply for oversized/overweight luggage subject to the airline's policy.

Please note:

• You will be responsible for all your personal belongings while on the tours/cruises. It is your responsibility to make sure your room/cabin is secure.

• Tweet World Travel will not be liable for any loss or damage to your luggage or other personal belongings.
Our products DO NOT include Travel Insurance. Travel insurance is not included in our tours, cruises, day tours, private tours, group tours, transfers, and any of our packages.

For your protection, we strongly recommend that you purchase comprehensive travel insurance for your travel arrangements (without limitation) that include coverage for medical expenses, loss of luggage, cruise, land content and airfare charges that may occur.

You need to provide us your Travel Insurance details upon booking, or at least before 30 days prior to your departure.

If you do not have travel insurance prior to your departure, we retain the rights to refuse boarding/joining our tours or cruises. We might refund / provide travel credits for you, less any unrecoverable fees including but not limited to admin fees, visas fees, other suppliers’ cancellation fees. We won’t be held liable for any costs associated with this matter.

Please note:  this tour doesn’t include the entry visa for the country it travels to. Make sure you have acquired a valid visa before travelling and joining the tour. Check whether a single entry or multiple entry visa is required/ available.

When assisting with an international travel booking, we assume that all travellers in the booking have a valid passport. Passports must be valid for the countries through which a ship or tour passes. It is the responsibility of each passenger to ensure the validity and conformity of their passport. 

It is the customer’s responsibility to make sure that the travellers have the valid visas and/or correct visa type to enter the destination country they are travelling to. Travellers might need to present the visas at multiple checkpoints and may be refused to fly out of their countries, if the visa documents cannot be presented. If such an event occurs, we won’t be liable and the travellers will be deemed as “no-show”. Please check our Terms & Conditions for the penalty for “no-show”.

Visa and other entry and exit conditions (such as currency, customs and quarantine regulations) change regularly. Contact the nearest Embassy or Consulate for up-to-date information.

If you require us to assist with visa application in less than 60 days before your departure date, an additional fee of $120 per person will be required for visa processing, on top of the visa fee. 

Important Note:

  • All travellers must have a valid passport for international travel and most countries require at least 6 months validity from the date of return and some countries require a machine‐readable passport.
  • Some countries require visas and re‐entry permits which meet the requirements of immigration and other government authorities. 
  • It is your sole responsibility if any fines, penalties, payments or expenditures incurred as a result of such documents not satisfying the requirements of those authorities.



You need a visa to enter India. Visas must be arranged before arrival.


The Electronic Visa (e-Visa or ETA) is available to apply online. Make sure you apply well in advance (at least a month), as it may take time to be approved. Find more information about the eligibility criteria on the Government of India's e-Visa website. Beware of fake websites offering the e-Visa service. Make sure you are eligible for an e-Visa before you apply.

Carry a printed copy of your e-Visa (known as an electronic travel authorisation or ETA). A formal visa will be put in your passport on arrival in India. Long queues are common at immigration counters in India, regardless of visa type


Not all international airports in India allow passengers to enter with an e-Visa. The e-Visa is only valid for entry through 24 designated airports

If you want to enter through another location, arrange for an Indian visa before you arrive through an Indian High Commission, Consulate, Embassy or agent. If you arrive with an e-Visa at an entry point where the e-Visa is not recognised, you won't be able to apply for any other visa. You won't be allowed in and deported. If you hold an e-Visa you may leave from any authorised immigration check point in India
